[Secure-testing-team] Bug#819847: Network connection not detected; prevents installing updates

gpk-update-viewer currently reports "No updates are available / No
network connection was detected."  However, there is a working network
connection (managed by Network Manager), and underneath the transient
window showing this message I see a list of updates in the 8.4 point
release are listed that are apparently being downloaded.
