I did some experimental 0.9.24 package and they had the same problem
that 0.9.22 had. I have no idea what the ubuntu guys did to fix the
0.9.22 package. But, it works now.

I fired up an email to directfb-users. This one talking about what I
did to get things to work. Let's hope somebody gets interested in the
directfb-config script i did and get it from alioth's svn.

Good. They will definitely give you more weight when you report things
back upstream.
