This also prevents GDM from being stopped:
Stopping GNOME Display Manager: gdmSplashy ERROR: Connection refused
I have tried to enable splashy ("splash" kernel option), and it works,
but GDM still doesn't load.
I had to remove splashy to be able to start GDM.
