[Splashy-devel] Bug#485131: [splashy] splashy crashes and boot halts

screen turns to black on boot and the boot process appears to halt after some 
time of hd-led flashes.

later (after i remove "splash vga=791" from the kernel command line)...
i see at the system log :

libsplashy.so.1.0.0[b7ec3000+5000]
[ 3288.693082] splashy[8284]: segfault at c ip b7eef27d sp bf836240 error 4 in 
libsplashy.so.1.0.0[b7eed000+5000]

testing "splashy test" return this seg-fault too.
i try to test after a boot with no "splash" in the /proc/cmdline
so i get :
Splashy ERROR: libsplashy: Framebuffer is not configured properly please see

Splashy ERROR: Couldn't splashy_start_splashy(). Error -2

this issue seems similar to bug#458959.
