[Splashy-devel] Bug#512879: splashy: Heavy flickering on debian-cubism theme

Package: splashy
Version: 0.3.13-3
Severity: important
Hi,
this problem has similar symptoms like #505270 in message #37. The
default theme works without problems, but when I try to use the
debian-cubism theme, it prints error messages and finally shows the
image and the progress bar, flikering quite strongly during the first
some seconds.
This looks very ugly and annoying and makes this theme quite unusable.
I am running it with the Debian kernel and did the update-initramfs -u
just as ``splashy_config`` tells me to. I am running a ATI Radeon Xpress
1250, a rather low-powered card for laptops.
On the other hand, neither the shutdown screen of debian-cubism makes
any problems, nor the default theme (I first thought splashy is generally
broken, but the default theme works without problems).
regards,
Marek
