This form of communication does not help. Right now there is no real
maintainer for gdebi, so no one is really looking after this package.
If you want this bug fixed, please provide more details on the crash
and the workarounds that have been tried.
The python backtrace might be useful, for example.

For the next person wondering, the patch applied by MX Linux is
attached (basically runs gdebi under gksu, probably side-stepping
some permission issue).
