Package: base
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

First, sorry for my english.

I'm using a debian livecd ( xfce desktop ).
In the file /etc/inittab there are these lines :

1:2345:respawn:/bin/login -f user </dev/tty1 >/dev/tty1 2>&1
2:23:respawn:/bin/login -f user </dev/tty2 >/dev/tty2 2>&1
3:23:respawn:/bin/login -f user </dev/tty3 >/dev/tty3 2>&1
4:23:respawn:/bin/login -f user </dev/tty4 >/dev/tty4 2>&1
5:23:respawn:/bin/login -f user </dev/tty5 >/dev/tty5 2>&1
6:23:respawn:/bin/login -f user </dev/tty6 >/dev/tty6 2>&1

This doesn't set the control tty of the login program.
Only redirect stdin and stdout. Some programs ( i.e tmux ), doesn't work
properly.

Using getty or openvt, tmux works properly. Change these lines in the
Debian LiveCD.
