This doesn't appear to be enough for btrfs, but then the existing bug
report doesn't appear to be enough either:

Please see if the patch proposed there can actually be completed. I've
got no particular interest in btrfs myself, so this support would need
to be maintained long term. A method of testing it fully would be
essential, preferably by running something inside a newly built VM to
verify the support.
