Package: vmware-package
Version: 0.7
Followup-For: Bug #431733
I don't see any resonable default for -u being extracted when running
make-vmpkg:
# make-vmpkg -p server-console VMware-server-console-1.0.3-44356.tar.gz
===> detected product "server-console"
===> md5sum check passed
Traceback (most recent call last):

File "/usr/bin/make-vmpkg", line 268, in main
build(opt, os.path.realpath(fname[0]))
File "/usr/bin/make-vmpkg", line 126, in build
pkgver = opt.upstreamver + '.' + opt.localver
TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for +: 'NoneType' and 'str'
Looking at the code in the function product(), extracting a default
upstream version only happens if the product isn't set. To me it seems
that determining the product should be separated from determining the
upstream version, though they probably should be ordered.
