OK, thanks for confirming.  I don't know exactly what to do; it sounds
like mixing system libs and vmware-shipped libs is becoming dangerous
now that divergence is growing between the pseudo- dynamically linked
binaries that vmware ships and the bleeding edge libraries in unstable.

Well, it only works when the program is running, which may not be the
case when reportbug is invoked.  I'll add it to README.Debian, though.
