[Webapps-common-packages] Working on Bugzilla 3.0 Package

Hi,

I was about to set up Bugzilla for my employer to use and noticed that
version 3.0 is out, but not yet packaged. I tracked down a message on
this list last month that stated that packaging is being delayed due to
a shortage of time on the maintainer's part. Since this is a new
installation, I intend to use 3.0 to begin with rather than upgrading
later; furthermore I used to be a DD until my own time constraints
prevented me. Therefore I will be working on packaging bugzilla 3.0 for
Debian in order to install to our servers. If the work I do toward that
end is beneficial to Debian, I will not hesitate to send patches.

If any preliminary work has been done on packaging, it would be nice if
I could have access to it in order to have a better starting point than
the 2.2 source packages. Also, if anyone knows the various caveats and
issues involved for Debian packaging, please let me know so I can watch
out for them. I imagine there will be quite a curve as I have never
dealt with Bugzilla or its Debian package until now. Nevertheless I
hope my work turns out to be useful to Debian!

-Jared
