I hoped back then to have more time to be able to test my patches a bit
more so they are in a shape they can be submitted to the appropiate
maintainers so there might be chance to get them in. Sadly that looks
quite a bit deeper issue than I thought and while I have it running for
my ultrasparcs and the hardware I have, I still need much more time to
test it and got occupied by other stuff to do first. I think the best
mid-term solution for sparc would be to try to include the "esp"
unconditionally. As far as I can see it supports virtually all sbus scsi
cards in the wild and if there is no such card it fails to load and thus not
even occupies memory unnecessarily.
