Ok, ... I'm interested. But be warned, I'm not a coder.

I reported this against linux-image-... because I thought it might be a 
problem with the packaging.

I see this bug is still open (same as #434597), though #435263 and 
#435488 are closed. Maybe they could all be merged? Can I do this if I'm 
not a maintainer?
