[Yaird-devel] Bug#465391: never able to install a kernel again?

Package: yaird

Apparently I will never be able to install or upgrade a kernel again
without poisoning that kernel, as its /boot files are left in a
halfway state after this adventure. Please advise.

Can I opt out and go back to the old way?
# apt-get --purge remove yaird
The following packages will be REMOVED:

  linux-image-2.6.24-1-686* linux-image-686* yaird*
Apparently not.
