It seems to me that you are describing a variant of bug#340759.  Please 
read http://bugs.debian.org/340759 and consider adding to that bugreport 
- - by sending an email to 340759 at bugs.debian.org .

Perhaps you could test the patches included in on of the last posts in 
that report, and report back to the bugreport if you find it useful or 
not - that will help me decide if it should make it into yaird 
officially.


Actually, if you are interested, then I could use your help in 
maintaining yaird.  You need not be an official Debian developer.  Heck, 
you need not use Debian at all - just interest in yaird and perhaps a 
little perl knowledge is sufficient.
