Yes, I have already checked out Quanta. Bluefish is another that is
simpler, but with both of these the problem appears to be that they were
initially created as html editors, and any other attribute has been
added on as an afterthought which produces the sort of problem that you
are talking about.
Believe it or not, Nano apparently has an xml plugin, and there is also
an xml capable editor in Gnome I am chasing down. I believe it is Gedit.
I will reconfirm this onlist when I have verified it. I have also made
enquiries in other quarters for a Debian equivalent of xmlspy, which is
the one that the W3C project recommend.
