Hello?

Ian, you were quite quick in filing the bug. You were quite (overly)
forceful in your descriptions of my change, and you persuaded Guillem to
act with quite amazing haste.

Guillem, you were extremely quick to close this bug. You didn't wait a
reasonable amount of time for me to respond (2 days, over a weekend,
during which I was away) before closing it by ripping my work out.

Needless to say, I'm not very happy that the work I spent time on was
reverted without giving me a chance to rebut. And now this is done, now
that my work has missed the release (which given the effect of the
change was somewhat important), you both go silent.

Can you please help me out? I don't want to implement a change in
autopkgtest if I can help it. It'll be a waste of resources requiring
test runners to spin up instances that they might not need. It'll
require extra hand-holding from the outside. I also don't want to
implement a brittle, hard to implement and lagging side channel to
deliver this information. A solution in dpkg-source is superior. It has
access to all the information we need. Please give me some advice on
whether there is a way I can satisfy you and implement it in
dpkg-source.

Cheers,
