What you are refering to above documents a) packages that might be 
relevant to include, and b) codecs not in Debian and *not* recommended 
to install.  I suspect it is far better if you could document (e.g. on a 
subpage to above referenced wiki page) some concre cases not working, 
and start a discussion with the debian-multimedia team on how such cases 
could best be addressed in Debian.  Raising the discussion among a few 
developers with a shared interest in _Fluxbox_ seems a very ineffective 
approach ;-)

What you refer to is treated as a bug in Fluxbox - not sure why you add 
"and other lightweight window managers": Please test if the same issue 
seem to exist for other lightweight window managers as well, and report 
your tests at the corresponding Debian bugreport (makes sense for 
upstream to treat it as a bug with their own code, but the Debian issue 
might more appropriately be reassigned to e.g. gnome).
