So it is exactly the same problem, just your motivation for changing the 
packaging in a way that makes the problem appear are different.  The 
bug has been registered and will be addressed when appropriate, but 
since it will break backward compatibility and cdbs is frozen for etch 
anyway, it won't be very soon.  Sorry.
