Package: sbuild
Version: 0.62.6-1
Severity: wishlist

I switched from pbuilder to sbuild a little while ago. On the whole it
is an inexpressibly enormous improvement. Thank you!

The one and only thing I miss from pbuilder is that it had an option by
way of its "C" hooks (e.g. /usr/share/doc/pbuilder/examples/C10shell)
to run something interactively inside the chroot when a build failed.
This meant that you could fire off pbuilder and if it failed you could
debug the failure on the spot. With sbuild, I have to use schroot,
install all the build-dependencies by hand, and do the build manually
until it fails again. Not only is this rather cumbersome, but it can be
rather time-consuming if the failure was near the end of a very long
build.

It would be lovely to have an option to run a given interactive command
if a build failed, or even just to run a shell. I realise this is no
use in buildd environments, but when running sbuild by hand it would be
very useful.

Thanks,
