I'm afraid this bug is not fixed or has reappeared ...
Yesterday I did some upgrades on a machine running calypso, among
them

[UPGRADE] python-vobject:amd64 0.8.1c-4 -> 0.9.5-1

and the next `calypso --import …' led to

Failed to import: /tmp/whatever.ics

UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 7: ordinal not in range(128)

Same with 0.9.3-3; 0.8.1c-4 works.
