How to start an app by a terminal and to keep it running, when closing the terminal?

I already tried this without success.

I also tried disown -h and nohup and FWIW exo-open --launch and some
other things without success.

Perhaps I should consider to have it all in one script and to use
zenity/matedialog to display output and to provide options. I never used
zenity/matedialog before and usually a terminal emulation does what I
need.
