Not sure what you mean. On the other hand, even 8.1 does not
support giving ownership to someone else for every type of
database objects so what I think might be your argument is
probably still moot anyway.

Well, that won't work since you cannot install the database
without having followed the instructions in the first place.
And you can't read the instructions in
/usr/share/doc/gnumed-server/README.Debian without first
having installed gnumed-server.
Unless you want to split this up into gnumed-server and
gnumed-server-doc, then somehow guarantuee gnumed-server-doc
is installed *before* gnumed-server and then prompt the user
to go read and follow instructions from early in the
gnumed-server setup process.
