Just one closer look on this issue, I am more and more confused.

AFAIK the .BUP files are just copys of the .IFO files:

maik at mobby /multimedia/dvdsource/VIDEO_TS $ md5sum VIDEO_TS.[IB]*
51a2ca86877d4fecf549c1b81274e585  VIDEO_TS.BUP
51a2ca86877d4fecf549c1b81274e585  VIDEO_TS.IFO

Which seems they are. For sure I copied the .IFO to the .BUP file ->
same result :(.
