Try a rescue CD on base of Linux.
E.g.
  http://rip.7bf.de/current/RIPLinux-9.3-non-X.iso
It has burn programs like cdrecord, growisofs,
and cdrskin.
The image is just 60 MB of size.
Burn it to CD and and -if necessary- set the BIOS
to boot from CD.

There are also instructions for bringing it to
an USB stick

But since the image already has an isohybrid MBR
it might boot from USB "disk" without any further
preparation. Just give it a try by copying to a
stick (and killing its previous content, of
course).

Assumed the USB stick is at /dev/sdb:
As superuser first make absolutely sure that
/dev/sdb is not a valuable disk device.
Then do
  cat RIPLinux-9.3-non-X.iso >/dev/sdb
