I use it on 2.6.25-1

Iirc, the only thing stopping it working with 2.6.26 is the /proc
issue, a slight code change to use /sys instead would sort it.

You could make a script thats fired by ACPI events (isn't there a code
for AC/Battery switch?) but switching between 650-900 often can cause
a hard lock, especially when running X.
