This patch also seems to fix (part of) bug #494051 against
eeepc-acpi-source. But as of kernel 2.6.26, the eeepc-laptop module
is in the standard kernel, and obsoletes eeepc-acpi. And the other
part of that bug (the oops on unloading) is fixed in a pending patch
on LKML.
So I'd like to discontinue support for eeepc-acpi for kernels > 2.6.25.
Unless there are any objections, I plan to:
1. document this in the wiki
2. upload an eeepc-acpi package that will produce module packages
that conflict with kernels >= 2.6.26
3. advise the Debian kernel team to not build eeepc-acpi module packages
for recent kernels, and drop any already-built packages from
the archive
