I don't know if the following info helps, but I will do my best. I use
Debian on my EeePC 901, but did not use the custom installer. I just did
a Debian debootstrap and installed all packages I wanted on my system.
There are some custom eeepc apt-repositories that are optional to enable
to get some drivers for wireless network drivers with I don't use.

So it will probability possible to install Debian on your machine like
you are normally used to. And if some wanted features don't work add the
eeepc apt repositories to make it possible to install some custom
packages designed for the eeepc.
