pciehp is only useful for the wireless toggle, which hotplugs the PCI device.  Matthew Garret posted a better solution very recently - check the linux-acpi mailing list archives.  It puts eeepc-laptop in charge for this hotplug, and it doesn't require any delays at all.  When I tried suspend to ram, pciehp also caused delays of over 5 seconds on resume, which is completely unacceptable.

You can expect this to be merged in kernel version 2.6.29.

I've been tracking the kernel status on my Eee (701), I hope I can help with any similar questions.
