[Debian-eeepc-devel] how hot is hot? (no more fan)

Ouch. It seems fancontrol stops the fans because of the wrong 
temperature reading, which may damage the hardware because the real 
temperature is not taken in account :(

Maybe related to a kernel upgrade?

Maybe the BIOS is in a bad state after the battery drain? The 
following sequence may help:
 - shut down
 - unplug from AC
 - remove the battery
 - wait some time
 - try to turn it on to force draining of any possibly remaining 
   charge
 - wait a bit more
 - install the battery and/or plug the AC
 - start normaly
 - pray :)

I am out of ideas and don't own that model so maybe someone else who 
does can chime in?
