Hi,

I just wanted to give an update on my problems with the 1000PE model I
got two months ago:

These issues are now fixed in Debian's kernel: 2.6.32-9 adds support for
the wireless card, 2.6.32-11 disables wireless hotplug which disabled
the Ethernet card due to a bug (#573607).

By now I can also confirm that the wireless card works fine: both
hostap and managed mode.

> 3. I still have problems connecting the EeePC to my DSL modem.

This seems to be a problem specific to my DSL modem. Other Ethernet
connections are fine.

Another note: Adding acpi_osi="Linux" (or variations) are required on
this model as well. Otherwise several things such as brightness control
do not work.

Thanks to all who helped with these issues. I'm now very happy with my
EeePC :-)

Regards,
Ansgar
