I didn't. Everything just worked (except NFS, which is why I had
to upgrade).

With acpi_osi=Linux, eeepc_laptop loads automatically but
eeepc_wmi doesn't (and cannot be loaded manually because "No
such device").

Without acpi_osi, eeepc_wmi loads automatically but
