32 bit kernels will never run these systems because the virtualization code is
not present in these. If this is not initialized, everything is stuck.

So - this is wrong. You need the 2.6.11-pseries kernel. If your installation
mirror is debian.gonicus.de I've to monitor the installer code again. I currently
don't understand why you're getting the wrong kernel.

It is _essential_ to use this mirror to download the installer components,
too! But I guess we've already discussed this ;-)
