Hi, as far as i know the sid/etch kernels are ok for POWER5 right now. 
So using these (standard) repositories should work. Sven, i hope thats 
correct?

There are "old" kernels build by Sven Luther:

http://people.debian.org/~luther/ppc64/

and a very helpful "PPC64.README" in there.

Did the Live-CD work for you? I'm interested in testing it on OpenPower 
710, i only have acces to 720's. (This is not a integrated Debian 
Project, i just did this Live-CD for fun!)
