What about putting this in the works-with facet? The descriptions suggest that
it works-with can be understood in quite a wide way. The tags would then be

works-with::im:aim - AIM
works-with::im:icq - ICQ
works-with::im:jabber - Jabber
works-with::im:msn - MSN
works-with::im:yahoo - Yahoo!
