After some search: there is one [1], originated in gentoo [2]. However 
[1] is closed as invalid. (Maybe it's really a boinc-specific bug that 
didn't show up before wx2.8.12?) The comment [3] notes that recompiling 
against 2.8.11.0 solves the bug.
