Hmm, the patches to debian/control don't match those to debian/control.in
- the latter doesn't have libwxgtk-media2.8-dbg.

I just tried to build the patched package to test this, but it failed right
at the very end of the build, I think due to the above omission in
debian/control.in.  Building wx takes ages, so that's my enthusiasm used up
for today I'm afraid.
