I spent a little time doing a git bisect and narrowed down the point
it stopped working to a handful of commits, but the three commits
fail to build so I can't test further.

Here's a link to the bisect info which shows the last good commit
where --card-status works on win7 and the first bad commit where it
doesn't. The three skipped commits I'm unable to build.

There are only 'skip'ped commits left to test.
The first bad commit could be any of:

We cannot bisect more!
