Thanks!  I think that the relevant repository can be cloned with (note
the three "gnuk"s in a row!):

  git clone https://anonscm.debian.org/git/gnuk/gnuk/gnuk.git

I don't see it on that page, but i do see it at:

 http://www.fsij.org/pages/gnuk/git-ro-repository.html

The page you reference also says:

NeuG (under Gnuk Repository):
    http://gitorious.org/gnuk/neug 

and the gitorious repo is out of date -- maybe some link cleanup/triage
is in order?
