About LaTeX, I believe either you're serving the code as something for
the user to read (hence type 0 or another type that gets established for
alternate encodings), or you're serving the set of source files, which
the user will have to download an unpack.

In this case, I believe a "document" item type does not apply, it's
either 0 or 9, depending on whether it's a short snippet of code that
you can serve as-is or a tarball with the files.
