[Logcheck-devel] Bug#383243: deluser error message on purge

$ sudo dpkg --purge logcheck

/usr/sbin/deluser: The user `logcheck' does not exist.

The user did exist before that, as it was properly created on installation.
I'm not sure why it would complain like that, but it's weird.
