Thanks a lot.
The package python-tables could also be a problem for packaging because 
the required version is 2.2.
Ubuntu and debian testing are 2.1.2.

This dependencies is not necessary for Neo but recommended for 
neo.io.HDF5IO which is the *stars* IO...

I can't figure out how hard is to package recent pytables.
