FWIW -- we just uploaded 2.3.1-2 a few days ago -- it waits for
hdf5 transition to be over  and also some arch dependent problems to be
resolved:
http://release.debian.org/migration/testing.pl?package=pytables
to migrate into testing.  But that should not preclude neo's upload into
unstable since 2.3.1 is already there

So -- we are ahead of the game here ;)
