I am not aware of any "version=" option. Please explain.

This is considered an error, and thus a report will be generated.

I am not sure whether it should make sense to special-case this in the
cron job.

A workaround would to not disable the Debian Magic and to allow aide
to read its configuration from the autogenerated file.
