Even if you (despite expectations!) turned out to be a lousy hacker, we 
use a revision control system, so could easily roll back any disastrous 
changes - especially if using Git (I never felt quite at home with CVS 
or Subversion) :-)

Agreed. He is still member of the Alioth group, and is of course welcome 
back at any time if he feels like contributing again.

If ok with Sergey, I'll make that Subversion->Git conversion, then. And 
try describing it here on the list, to let you in on the tricks I used 
along the way.
