Hello,

I meant platforms of Debian, so I must admit. Since we do not have any scripts 
associated with out packages, it should be fairly straight forward though to 
use alien for the preparation of other distribution's packages.

I do not think that this will be an issue for the vast majority of packages

indeed, this is an issue, I do not know if alien manages this. The use of 
the "_" in package names is different.

I think we should go the "alien"-route if we seek for packages beyond Debian.

yip, this is what I actually meant.
