Not really. It could work to build blender using an older version of
gcc on mips{,el}, but I'd like to test this first before releasing an
update. However, I personally don't have access to such an machine at
the moment as some of the resources for Debian developers are still
locked down after the recent break-in, so I guess I need to find
someone else who actually owns such a machine to do this for me ...
