Apparently the user was running Testing, which didn't contain a blender
package at that time, and tried to install the Unstable version.

Naturally, without the proper flags to force apt to pull dependencies
=66rom Unstable the installation failed. This is not a bug in the
blender package, but stems back to the user not completely realizing
the difference between different distributions of Debian, as there was
a reason this package hadn't yet migrated to Testing at that time.

Closing this bug now, especially since by now blender should install
fine both in Testing and in Unstable. And if a user actually wants to
mix those two, they should apply special care.

Cheers,
Flo
