Dear Maintainers,

I undertook the effort to prune the now unobtainable
patch from the Bluez.org in order to upgrade the kernel
of Etch 4.0rc0 to the full specification of 2.6.18-mh8.
Of course you maintainers for Debian already have ported
much of that code, so I had to cross check all patchings.

I need to be able to run a stable and reliable NAP-service
on a Debian server. Using the standard Debian kernel 2.6.18
I so far had a record of eight hours, before the bnep device
canceled itself due to timeout and stalled ACL connection.
At present, with the updated kernel to 2.6.18-mh8, the bnep-
connection is close to 24 hours and no sign of detoriation.
I have some ideas of which parts of the code could be responsible
for the improvement, but I will continue my observations.

The attached patch can cleanly be applied to linux-source-2.6.8
and then built. Please consider testing it, and then somehow
to make it available to other users according to your own standards.
I thought that other people could just as well get to benefit from my
own professional efforts, i.e. concerning Bluetooth.
