Please stop to continue send many times this message.
Actually I not have Stretch install to check this now (I tested only Sid
with cinnamon 3.6 where all is working), cinnamon 3.2 have some issue
(solved in 3.4 except network improved in 3.6) but if I remember good
install of applet was working.

I remember only wget not added but for what I remember was about sound
applet cover download that have also memory leak issue and was better
not have wget, I have no time to check the code now, if you want try
install wget if missed and retry to update applet cache and
download/install one

Another thing if I remember good is that cinnamon 3.4 had significative
applet/desklet/extension changes, if the issue is related to this
cinnamon>=3.4 is required install/use updated applets/desklet/extension
but actually there aren't backports
